Yes. Turkey allows pet relocation, with certain restrictions of course. A total of 2 pets or 10 aquariums can be exempted from customs duties on condition that they are registered and accompanied by the owner in transit. Pets are considered to be “cats, dogs and birds” in the law; other animals that are allowed to be transported can also be brought into the country with accompanying tax payments and necessary documentation in place.

Yes, if you are holder of a Work Permit or a Residence Permit you must register your address within 20 business days of entering Turkey with your Work Visa or receiving your Residence Permit Card.

Yes, it is possible to register your mobile phone in Turkey via the e-government system along with payment of registration fees. If not registered, your phone may get blocked after four months of usage on the Turkish networks.

Yes, in most cases, it is possible to use your foreign driver’s license in Turkey for up to six months after entry. However, certain restrictions apply. Therefore each driver’s license must be reviewed before using foreign driver’s license in Turkey. After six months, you apply to the Populations registry to obtain a Turkish Driver’s License.

The best way is to purchase a travel card to use public transportation at vending machines located in most public transport stations and stops. The card can be used on all modes of public transport and provide the cheapest fares. They can be reloaded with credit at the same vending machines.

You may need to take care of certain departure formalities such as utility contract and lease termination, negotiation and securing return of security deposits and closure of your local bank account.

E-devlet is a government gateway website which allows access to a wide range of official personal information and processes. In order to gain access to the E-devlet system, an E-devlet password must be obtained from the Turkish Post Office (PTT). In order for PTT to issue a password, the individual must present a government issued document showing the Foreign ID number (Work Permit, Residence Permit) and their passport. E-devlet password procurement can only be done in person.
